Miss Ottolini's Classroom!

Hello Students and Parents!

Picture
Welcome to my classroom site!  I will be your teacher (or your child's teacher) in biology class this year, and I'm looking forward to an exciting, learning-filled year.  Periodically, I will be updating this site with announcements of upcoming events and daily lesson materials for students that are sick or out-of-town.  I've also posted my syllabus, safety guidelines, and class calendar for reference.

To tell you a little bit about  my background, I grew up in Chicago but attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology, and am licensed to teach in Virginia.  In addition to my classroom experience, I have conducted both zoological and botanical research.  I'm very much looking forward to sharing my experiences with my classes and helping them to nurture a love for science.  We will be doing as much hands-on lab and field work as possible, as this is the best way to learn about scientific investigation!

In my free time, I enjoy running and spending time with friends and family.  I love being outdoors and going on long hikes, though I'm a bit afraid of heights!  I've even hiked the Waimea Canyon in Hawaii.  What a site to see... so much wildlife all around you!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions about this site, the class, etc.  I will make myself available whenever fits your schedule! Thank you!
